NordicTrack vs Matrix: Cardio Machines with Virtual Training Software

Virtual training provides users with more interactive programs, classes, and even leaderboards to help keep you more motivated and combat the isolating feeling of running or cycling alone.

NordicTrack vs Matrix: Cardio Machines with Virtual Training Software

Home gym investments have been steadily on the rise since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. With people spending time at home, either due to lockdowns, isolation periods, or whichever it may be, the need to acknowledge that fitness equipment has become a must-have for many.

Among the fastest-growing sectors of the fitness industry, virtual training software and online classes are also trending upwards.

Virtual training provides users with more interactive programs, classes, and even leaderboards to help keep you more motivated and combat the isolating feeling of running or cycling alone.

As a Canadian specialty fitness store located in Sudbury, Ontario, we’ve been serving our clients in northern Ontario, the rest of Canada, and beyond with any of their fitness needs and questions. With virtual training software being so popular, we often are asked about equipment that offers virtual training options.

In this article, we take a look at two popular fitness brands that we carry, NordicTrack and Matrix, and their products that offer virtual training software.

    What is Virtual Training Software?

Virtual fitness training is presented in a variety of different ways. Most commonly it is presented as a convenient avenue for fitness enthusiasts to access an instructed class or workout program online without the need to visit a fitness facility.

Found on many high-end cardio machines, virtual training software is usually included with the use of a video console. These consoles are compatible with a range of workout programs, membership apps that feature unique programs and classes, and in some equipment, consoles can stream third-party apps.

However, virtual fitness training software is not just confined to software found on fitness consoles. Many fitness and progress tracking apps are compatible with personal devices such as smartphones and tablets, and can sometimes even connect to your fitness equipment via bluetooth.

In other cases, some users may engage with virtual fitness training software without the use of workout accessories, such as online yoga classes which only require a yoga mat.

It’s no surprise that virtual fitness training has become one of the highest growing trends in the fitness industry.

    Who Is NordicTrack?

NordicTrack is a fitness equipment retailer that specializes in cardio equipment and accessories.

NordicTrack started their journey by selling their NordicTrack Skiers. These low-impact cardio machines were designed to provide the user with an exercise that mimicked the movement of cross-country skiing.

NordicTrack went on to expand to manufacturing ellipticals, another form of low-impact cardio equipment, and later on they introduced treadmills, incline trainers, steppers, exercise bikes, and more to their inventory.

At Akfit, we house an inventory of NordicTrack products which include exercise bikes and treadmills. However, NordicTrack also sells ellipticals, rowers, and strength training equipment.
