If you’re looking to add a high-quality cardio machine to your home gym, you don’t have to look much further than Matrix’s library of equipment.

Whether you are looking to purchase an exercise bike, treadmill, or elliptical, all of these machines have their own unique benefits, drawbacks, and features.

Some of the many features these machines include are:

    • Display consoles
    • Heart-rate monitors
    • Water bottle holders
    • Tablet holders
    • Cooling fans
    • And much more.

The display console, specifically, is one of the most desirable features of any cardio machine. However, when it comes to Matrix’s cardio machines, you have a choice of which console you can pair with equipment. So which console is the most desirable for you?

Since 1989, Akfit has operated as a Canadian specialty fitness store located in Sudbury, Ontario. We’ve been serving our clients locally within northern Ontario, the rest of Canada, and beyond, helping them find the fitness equipment and accessories that are right for them.

In this article, we outline the different features of each Matrix console option and in turn, help you narrow down your decision when it comes to deciding which console you want to pair with your machine.

    What is a Display Console?

If you are familiar with modern cardio equipment, it is likely that you are also familiar with display consoles. However, if you are unsure, we are going to outline its purpose.

As previously mentioned, the display console may be one of the most desirable features on any cardio machine, and most machines include them.

The display console is usually placed at the front of the cardio machine so you can easily view it during your workout. These consoles track and communicate important data during your workout to help you reach your goals while doing so in a safe manner.

Some key pieces of data the console will track for you can include:

    • Current speed
    • Resistance level
    • Time
    • Distance
    • Incline level
    • Heart-rate
    • Calories Burned

Depending on the console you own with your cardio machine, they could also include other features in addition to what’s listed above. These extra features could include:

    • A video screen (potentially touchscreen or HD)
    • Speakers
    • HDMI ports
    • USB ports
    • Virtual training software
    • Bluetooth or Wi-Fi compatibility
    • Third-party streaming
    • Pre-installed entertainment or fitness apps

Which Matrix Console is Right for You?

When it comes to deciding which console is the perfect fit for your machine, it is just a matter of price points and preference.

If you want a larger library of entertainment options, and are willing to pay at a higher price point, then the XUR console may be the right console for you (if you have a 50 or 75 series machine).

On the other hand, if you appreciate simplicity, and just want a basic console and are not in need of the extra workout programs, then the basic XR console may be the right choice. Ultimately these consoles can suit the fitness needs of almost everybody, and it depends on the technology you feel the most comfortable with.
